What happens next with Banshee Beach!

Right now we are finishing up the pre-survey process for Banshee Beach. Surveys will not be going out before next week, because Backerkit is fairly adamant in giving backers a full two weeks to straighten out any credit card 'stuff.' I will be doing a 'smoke test' to establish that the surveys are working, so you might get your survey a couple of days early. The preorder store will also open next week, so if you wanted to pick up more things then, there's your chance.

Fulfilment: 

  • Digital awards go out as they come available. For the Frozen Dreams and Tinsel Rain e-books, the Fermi Resolution Companion, and the Lunatic's Hope E-ARC, that means 'right away.' The Fermi Resolution poetry collection should hopefully be ready for viewing by the end of the month. The Banshee Beach e-book will not be ready before next year (2027). We made enough to make it possible for me to be able to pay my editor much earlier than I would have been able to do so otherwise, but the editing process itself takes time.
  • Physical awards are most likely going to go out when Banshee Beach itself is fulfilled. Again, that will be 2027.

Also note that physical awards are US shipping only, with the exception of bookplates (by themselves). Those I can simply mail without having to charge extortionate rates for them.

Thanks to everybody who participated in the Backerkit.

What's next? A lot of infrastructure work. Money gets collected, Pledge Manager gets built, I figure out what the pre-order store and the digital distribution will look like. I do plan to release the digital stuff as early as is feasible, so keep an eye for that stuff as it comes available. Stuff like shipping and physical fulfilment will come later.

In the meantime: again, thanks for backing, and I'll be quiet now. I know, I know: first time for everything, right?

We passed the second stretch goal this afternoon, which means we've unlocked a fourth story in the short story sampler! Next up is getting a little something extra to the artist and editor. Believe me, they both deserve it.

And we're twenty-four hours out to the end! Thanks to everybody who's backed so far, and I hope that anybody who hasn't yet will give BANSHEE BEACH a shot.

Which is torture, but that's how these things go. But we still have forty hours, so now is the time to tell all your friends, colleagues, loved ones, and random strangers on the street about how awesome it would be to back my project. After the $2,000 'more stories' stretch goal comes the 'pay the artist and editor more' one. Then a tip for my Voice Actress for Frozen Dreams, then more stories, and then art for the poetry collection... basically, I'll find ways to spend the money on more creative work, don't worry.

Oh, and don't forget to talk up our Cross-Collaboration partner Sherlock Holmes: Mistletoe Mysteries, either. It's all linked together, man. It all coheres.
